Hero Hunk facelift caught without any camouflage
Just like the past few years, Hero has had a very good run this year as well, sitting comfortably at the top spot of the Indian two-wheeler segment in terms of sales. The company has planned to launch 15 new and updated products this year. Hero has been silently going about this process in contrast to rival Honda and most of these products have already been introduced in the market. However, quite a few still need to arrive before the end of this year.
Among these soon to launch products, Hero Hunk facelift is one very important product for the company. The facelift model has just been spied testing without any camouflage, much to everyone’s surprise. This wasn’t expected given that the motorcycle sadly does not receive any updates on the design front. The changes are very subtle including the addition of a new fairing on the fuel tank with air vents. The handlebars now sport the company’s logo and the front mudguard has a few design tweaks as well.
The instrument cluster gets a new side stand indicator, fork covers at the front are done in black as compared to the current model’s golden colour and the rear shocks are now in black from the earlier red. Otherwise, the overall design remains unchanged.
The facelifted Hero Hunk engine specification reveals a slight bump in power with the 149cc engine capable of churning out 15 BHP of power and 13 Nm of torque coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox. In comparison, the current model outputs 14.4 PS of power and 12.8 Nm of torque. The added power is a good thing given the motorcycle has a high kerb weight of 145 kg.
Through the spy shots one can clearly see that the Hero Hunk bike is loaded with various testing tools. But it seems to be in a production ready avatar, signifying a launch very soon. Till then, Hero MotoCorp is gearing up to launch the Duet and Maestro Edge scooters in the country in the coming months in order to give Honda a tough fight in the scooter class.
