Hero 125cc scooter caught testing, gets a more comprehensive look
First showcased in this year’s Auto Expo, Hero showcased the Dare 125 concept vehicle. Though the vehicle spied looks completely different, hinting that a completely new model would be released.
Hero Plans to expand its scooter line up and the upcoming 125cc scooter will compete against its ex-partners Honda Active 125. The spy shot that has emerged online caught the 125 cc scooter being tested with medium camouflage giving away a few details. The two-wheeler will be powered by a self-developed Hero engine making it all the more special. The 125 cc scooter gets more conservative in design with a high mounted headlamp flanked with indicators; a comfortable cushioned seat and is flanked by a plastic silver finished grab rail.
The upcoming Hero bike has been trimmed down from the side-panels, to give the bike a leaner look and aggressive stance. In terms of technological advancements over its predecessor, it will sport telescopic front forks. The new in-house engine of Hero would sport a 125cc motor, churning out about 9.5bhp. Currently, the 125 cc scooter market is the most congested, with almost all major manufacturers introducing a model with this engine specification.
Suzuki and Honda dominate the main the 125 cc market, along with premium scooters (Vespa). Expected to be launched in mid-2015, Hero`s upcoming scooter is expected to be tagged at Rs. 58,000(ex-showroom).
