GM India Starts “Chevrolet 100 Hour Sale”, Offering Benefits Of More Than Rs. 1 Lakh

The Indian automotive market has been in a slowdown for quite some time now. Car manufacturers are not able to get volumes going even after offering a range of discounts. As a result, General Motors has come out with a promotion gimmick in order to get more customers to their showrooms. The new initiative is called “Chevrolet 100 Hour Sale” which will enable buyers to avail benefits of up to Rs. 1 lakh and Rs. 10,000 of free accessories.

The 100 hour sale is available from 18th June to 21st June 2015 in India. Customers who will look to buy the Cruze sedan can avail benefits worth Rs. 1, 00,999, Rs. 70,499 worth benefits for the Beat hatchback, Rs. 64,499 worth benefits for the Sail sedan and Rs. 62,500 worth full of benefits for the Enjoy MPV respectively. To add to the offer, Chevrolet is giving one additional one-time benefit of free accessories worth Rs. 10,000 with every purchase made in the 100 Hour Sale.

The American car major has also planned a multi-media communication campaign for reaching out to the general public for creating brand awareness and additional footfall in their showrooms. With falling sales, similar campaigns are required to get vehicles rolling out from the dealerships once again. GM’s sales declined by over 35 percent in FY15 in contrast to the 4 percent growth experienced by the market. The company was able to sell just 50,000 units in the same period, which is almost half of what they managed four years back. In the two months of FY16, GM has seen a fall of sales of 34 percent to 6711 units in India.

Even after offering various other offers like low maintenance schemes, Chevrolet Complete Care programme, round-the-clock 24×7 roadside assistance and free pick up and drop for vehicles belonging to female customers, Chevrolet is having a tough time in the extremely competitive Indian car market. The company recently developed digital applications including the likes of Chevrolet Service Estimator Online tool and the MyChevroletIndia mobile application to catch the frenzy of today’s technologically advanced car buyers.
