2015 Ford Mustang

Ford Mustang, the American muscle car known for its jaw dropping performance figures is set to launch in India during this year. You heard it right! The Mustang is expected to be launched during diwali this year and will be the best firecracker you can buy if you have enough dough in your pockets. Talking on the sidelines of the Sanand plant launch, Ford`s CEO, Mark Fields has confirmed to dealers that the company will be bringing the Mustang to India this year.

The Mustang is a very popular car around the world and it will definitely serve as a brand building platform for Ford in India. What makes the Ford Mustang the icon it is? Well you know, the answer is those head turning looks and heart thumping engines that power this beauty. This mean machine is powered by three engines internationally – a 306bhp 2.3-litre, four-cylinder EcoBoost engine, a 296bhp 3.7-litre V6, and a beastly 429bhp 5.0-litre V8 to keep you glued to the steering wheel.

Ford also sells a drop top version of the Mustang internationally along with the standard coupe version. We don’t have much detail at the moment but most likely the Ecoboost variant will make it to the Indian shores.

The first launch in 2015 from the house of Ford India will be the Figo Apire compact sedan which will rival the likes of the Honda amaze, Swift Dzire and the Tata Zest. The car will roll out from Ford`s Sanand plant in Gujarat. The Ford Figo compact sedan will come with two engine options – a 1.2 litre petrol motor and a 1.5 litre diesel motor. Additionally, Ford will also launch the Aspire with a 6 speed dual clutch automatic gearbox mated to the 1.5 litre petrol motor.

Next in line is the new Ford Figo hatchback which has been spotted testing quite frequently. It will replace the aging current-gen Figo hatchback which now looks dated compared to the competition in the market. The new Figo will compete with the likes of the Nissan Micra, Grand i10 and Maruti Swift. The car will be available with both petrol and diesel engines.
Ford will also be launching the next-gen Ford Endeavour this year. The brawny SUV has been unveiled in international markets and will hit the Indian showrooms before the festive season. The new SUV will rival the likes of the Ssangyong Rexton, Toyota Fortuner and the Pajero Sport. Ford will equip the SUV with 2.2 litre and 3.2 litre diesel engines with automatic and manual transmissions on offer.

Ford India seems quite hell bent on boosting its market share, with four launches in the pipe line this year.
