Ford to make the popular EcoSport available in India under CSD and CPC
The Ford EcoSport compact SUV has been a blockbuster from the company in India. The EcoSport got instant success in India from the moment it was launched in India, and took the popularity of the compact SUV segment in India to a new level. In fact, the rising demand for this urban compact crossover was getting difficult for Ford to handle. Ford was soon flooded with a great deal of orders, which forced the global car major to halt the bookings for the crossover for a certain period of time. However, Ford has now sorted out its demand and supply issues of the EcoSport and has reopened the booking registrations for the compact SUV a few months back.
Now, Ford India will also be selling the massively successful compact crossover in India through the Canteen Stores Department (CSD) as well as the Central Police Canteen (CPC). This means that the Ford EcoSport compact SUV which is already pretty affordably priced will be offered to the Indian defence and police personnel at a subsidized price. Thus, the Ford EcoSport compact SUV will become a more attractive choice for the Indian defence and police staff, and they can avail the special benefits of this stylish SUV at a more affordable price tag.
However, the EcoSport is not the only or first vehicle from Ford’s product portfolio to be offered in India via the CSD route. The other vehicles from the house of Ford that are available through CSD are namely the Figo, the Classic and the Endeavour.

It is a sub-4 meter compact vehicle which makes it avail the excise duty benefits of the Indian government for the small cars, and thus the vehicle is attractively priced as well. The Ford EcoSport has a starting price tag of Rs. 5.59 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi) for the base petrol variant.
