Ford India opens bookings for the Aspire compact sedan
The compact sedan space has witnessed a huge demand in India in the recent times and every major carmaker has gone ahead and launched a car in this category. American auto giant Ford is the latest entrant to join this bandwagon. The company will be launching the Figo Aspire next month in the country and pre-bookings for the car have already commenced. The vehicle can be booked for an amount of Rs. 30,000. The Figo Aspire will be available with petrol and diesel engines and it will come in four trims.
Powering the Aspire sedan are the familiar petrol and diesel motors used in the Ecosport and Fiesta, but they have been tuned for better performance and improved fuel efficiency. The base 1.2 litre petrol motor churns out 88PS and 112 Nm of twist with a claimed fuel efficiency figure of 18.2 kmpl. The more potent 1.5 litre gasoline mill produces 112 PS of power and delivers a mileage of 17.2 kmpl. This engine comes mated to a 6-speed dual clutch transmission. The 1.5 litre oil burner bangs out 100PS and 215 Nm of torque coupled to a five-speed manual transmission and delivers an impressive mileage of 25.8 kmpl.
The Ford Figo Aspire comes packed with segment first features like six-airbags, My Ford Dock and a programmable key to restrict the speed of the car. The sub 4-metre car will be available in 7 colours. It is expected to be launched during the second week of August and will be pitted against the likes of the Honda Amaze, Tata Zest, Maruti Swift Dzire and the Hyundai Xcent.
