Ford Focus ST makes its global debut at Goodwood festival of speed in the UK
The New 2015 Ford Focus ST made its global debut on June 26th at Goodwood festival of Speed in the United Kingdom. The Focus ST has been tuned to provide better handling and increased steering feel to deliver a more involving driving experience. This hot hatch comes with beautifully crafted interiors featuring recaro seats, sports steering wheel and cockpit like controls.
As per Ford media reports Raj Nair, Ford group vice president, global product development mentioned that the Focus ST carries forward the fun-to-drive DNA to the hatch segment which is an amalgamation of style, performance and driving dynamics. With the launch of the 2015 Focus ST there has been an enhancement in the driving dynamic department, an updated suspension setup and a cockpit like futuristic cabin.
Ford says the 2015 Focus ST will remain the hottest hatch worldwide.
The Focus ST was first introduced by Ford in 2002. Since then the car maker has sold 140,000 units in more than 40 countries worldwide. Some of the key upgrades to the Focus ST include:-
- Enhanced driving dynamics
- Powerful appearance
- Cockpit style cabin
- Advanced technologies
The Ford Focus ST comes with a 2.0 litre “EcoBoost” engine which produces 252 PS of power and 270 Nm of torque at 2,500 rpm. This motor is mated to a slick six-speed gearbox with a short throw shifter for performance. Just by reading the engine numbers we can predict the Focus ST will rock the road. Now only if Ford India could bring this car to India. There might be a few takers but it would definitely help Ford in brand building. Is someone at Ford India listening?
