Though the Ford EcoSport has suddenly received potent competition in the name of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza in the India automotive market, this compact SUV has managed to hold on to its leadership tag in many global markets. With India being the export hub of Ford Motor Company, it is obvious that the surge in demand of the EcoSport will directly affect the country’s export numbers. As a result, the Ford EcoSport has now become India’s most exported car for the fiscal year 2015-2016, by registering an export growth of more than 55% with respect to the last years’ figures.

According to data released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), Ford Motor Company has exported 83,325 units of the EcoSport Compact SUV this fiscal year, which is a huge increment as compared to the 55,178 units exported during the same period last year.

Though the global sales are sky-rocketing, Ford India is currently struggling to keep its most selling product isolated from the immense competition faced from the Maruti Vitara Brezza and the Mahindra TUV300.
