Fiat will not use Aegea name for the production car – Report
As per a recent report from Autonews.com, the Fiat Aegea Concept that was revealed at the Istanbul Motor Show last month will not carry the same name to the production version. The Aegea is said to replace the Linea which has started to show its age.
Fiat`s brand chief officer, Olivier Francois, said that the Aegea Concept will evolve into a hatchback, sedan and a station wagon, but the Aegea name will not be retained for the production spec models. All three versions of the Italian car will be manufactured at the company`s plant in Turkey. While Mr. Francois has confirmed that the Fiat Aegea will be first launched in Europe, Africa and the Middle East, what the final name of the product would be hasn`t been disclosed. Also at this point of time there is no official confirmation if the car will be launched in India or not.
The Aegea will be powered by two petrol and two diesel motors. Fiat did a good job with the design of the Aegea. Other than the exterior changes the cabin and interiors have been given a complete makeover to give it a more upmarket look. Its design is a radical departure from the existing Fiat products and it looks more futuristic in comparison to the Linea.
