Fiat Egea (Tipo) India Launch Date, Price, Specifications, & Other Details
Put your hands together to welcome the new Fiat Egea/Tipo and oh Sayonara Fiat Linea! Well, the Italian carmaker has decided to pull the trigger on the Fiat Linea and introduce Egea aka Tipo globally. This leaves us wondering when Egea will grace the domestic market. For our curious readers, the Fiat Egea made its world premiere last year at the 2015 Istanbul Motor Show. The edgier and sportier Fiat Egea has been designed by FCA Style and Centre in Italy and has been fabricated by the company’s Bursa factory in Turkey.
Fiat’s Tofas facility in Bursa, Turkey produces the new sedan for over 40 countries in Europe, Africa (EMEA) region and Middle East. Logic says that the India-spec Egea will be locally manufactured at Fiat’s Ranjangaon facility in Maharashtra. Describing the Egea (Tipo) in Fiat’s words, it was born to be a sedan and is definitely not a hatchback with boot. Those craving for more, fasten your seatbelts as we drive further into the details of the mid-size sedan.
Fiat Egea (Tipo) India Launch date
Usually carmakers drop clues for motor-heads seeking details of the future products, but not Fiat India. The sedan was missing even at the 2016 Auto Expo and what more, we are yet to spot any disguised test mules on Indian roads. But all these do not stop us from speculating that the handsome boy- Egea will drive to India by late 2017 or early 2018.
Moreover reports claim that Egea at present is being fabricated in the LHD format only, so the RHD version exclusively for the Indian market will of course take some time. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles seems focussed on launching the Jeep brand in the country first, which will be followed by the introduction of the Urban Cross and Linea 125 S based on the current models.
