DSK-Benelli TNT 25 launched in India at Rs. 1.68 lakhs
After revealing the TNT 25 at the 2015 India Bike Week, Benelli has just launched the motorcycle in India priced at Rs. 1.68 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). Becoming the Italian company’s entry-level offering and first single-cylinder bike in India, the DSK-Benelli TNT 25 is available in two different variants with the premium version costing Rs. 1.75 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Rivalling the recently launched Mahindra Mojo and the KTM Duke 200 in the quarter-litre segment, the DSK-Benelli TNT 25 derives its looks from elder siblings like the TNT 300. Design wise, the naked bike gets sporty alloy wheels, single-piece seat, underbelly exhaust, unique LED tail lamp, big 17 litre fuel tank and a headlamp that is similar to the TNT 300.
Powering the TNT 25 is a 249.2cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled DOHC engine that generates 28.15 BHP of power at 9800 RPM and 21.61 Nm of torque at 8000 RPM. The engine comes paired to a 6-speed gearbox. Weighing 159 kg, the bike gets giant upside-down forks at the front, monoshock suspension at the rear, 280mm discs up front and 240mm discs at the rear. The normal variant gets MRF tyres, while the premium variant gets gripper Metzelers. Much to the delight of many, ABS is offered as an optional add-on feature.
The bike is available in two different colours – red and white. To make the bike stand out in the crowd, Benelli is also offering three different types of decals as optional accessories. It must also be mentioned that like the TNT 300, the TNT 25 also gets what can be called the best sounding exhaust in the 250cc class.
The DSK-Benelli TNT 25 is a capable motorcycle that can reach a top speed of 145 km/hr. With its comfortable upright riding position, it makes for a very touring friendly bike as well. Benelli should find quite a few takers for the TNT 25 as it is a potent machine that can give strong competition to its well-settled rivals.
