Details emerge on the Indonesian-spec Toyota Innova facelift
Some more images of the new Toyota Innova (Indonesian spec) have leaked prior to its global unveiling in November. Up front, the hexagonal grille gets two chrome slats and merges with the upper front bumper. Flanking the front grille are projector headlamps with integrated LED DRLs. Redesigned fog lights are reminiscent of the ones seen in Camry saloon. The Indonesian spec model will be available in petrol as well as diesel engine options mated to a five and six-speed auto transmissions.
Among other major changes, the car is likely to feature two driving modes-Eco and Power across engine choices. Higher variants could get fitments such as push button start, keyless entry, seven airbags, etc. Dual front airbags will be available as a standard option across line-up. Besides, it will also get hill-start assist and stability control. Spruced up cabin is highlighted by a redesigned dual tone dashboard, a new 7 inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth, Aux-In and SD card support. The middle variant of the Indonesian spec model will get an even better infotainment system along with HDMI input, internet browsing facility and Micracast Wi-Fi.
As for the India spec model, nothing has been confirmed yet, it is yet to be seen if these features will be offered in India bound model or not. One of the other prominent changes is the new GD series engines. The new 2.4 litre, diesel mill will replace the old KD 2.5 litre engine, available in manual as well as automatic engine choices. Power output for the auto version is 145 BHP at 3400 RPM and 36.6 kgm between 1200 and 2600 RPM. On the other hand the manual version can pull off 147 BHP and 34.8 kgm. The petrol engine which is most likely confined to the international markets will get a 2.0 litre, 137 BHP/14 kgm engine. With so many changes in the offing, the new Innova is expected to undergo a significant price bump.
