Datsun Redi-GO teased ahead of April 14 launch
Datsun has been banking a lot on its upcoming A-segment hatchback launch. And now, the budget-friendly car maker has officially teased the highly awaited Datsun Redi-Go hatchback, by officially releasing a couple of rendering images of the new Redi-Go that reveal its exterior details. This revelation comes on the backdrop of another teaser that was released last week by the manufacturer, showcasing the car’s silhouette.
And the biggest thing that the newly revealed images display is the fact that the production-spec Redi-go has carried forward majority of the design cues from its concept avatar, though the overall character has been toned down to suit a wide range of audience. There have been some design changes given to the headlamps, front bumper, ORVMs, and tail-lamps. This has been done to minimize manufacturing costs, in order to introduce the Redi-Go at a highly competitive price.
The Datsun Redi-Go is basically a redressed and re-badged Renault Kwid, as both these cars share the same CMF-A platform that was developed under the Renault-Nissan Alliance. But designers at Datsun have given farewell to the SUV-esque character of the Kwid and have instead given the Redi-Go exteriors a sleeker yet sportier profile.
The Datsun Redi-Go launch in India is scheduled for the April 14th, and it is expected to be slotted below the price point of the Renault Kwid.
