BMW i8

From the beginning of 2015, Shell Lubricants will be the recommended oil supplier for the German luxury car major BMW. Shell Lubricants will not only be the officially chosen oil supplier only for BMW, but also for the other car brands under the German auto major’s umbrella, including i, Motorrad and Mini. As per this association between BMW and Shell, Shell Lubricants will be making the newly introduced PurePlus technology oils especially for the globally celebrated BMW vehicles. The association of BMW and Shell Lubricants will also ensure the worldwide availability of the new Shell PurePlus technology oil range at all the 3,500 BMW authorized dealership outlets across the world that are spread in over 140 countries.

Shell Lubricants is a renowned global oil supplier and is also the OEM oil supplier for some of the most eminent car manufacturers in India including the Indian market leader Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, General Motors and Nissan. In the global car markets, Shell Lubricants is the OEM oil supplier to many more acclaimed car makers including auto majors such as Ferrari, Chrysler Group Daimler, Maserati and Kia. While commenting on the recently made association between BMW and Shell Lubricants, Shell India’s managing director, Nitin Prasad happily said that the company is honoured to be associated with luxury car manufacturer BMW and is extremely pleased to have been chosen as the German car major’s recommended oil supplier. Shell Lubricants has always been a prominent international aftermarket engine oil supplier and this recommendation from BMW will only enhance the reputation of Shell and its engine oil range. He further said that there are various levels of joint ventures with OEMs – starting from selling off the shelf products to offering bespoke products to co-engineering.

BMW being a superior luxury car brand also has high quality engine oil standards and always needs great quality engine oils that have been specially designed in order to unleash the true potential of the high-end BMW engine range. BMW engines also require only the best and the most advanced engine oils with latest specifications to work together to offer superb power and performance. The new Shell PurePlus technology oils meet all these mentioned standards and thus have been chosen by BMW. Prasad concluded his statement by saying that the company looks forward to jointly distributing, supplying and marketing these high quality aftermarket engine oils, starting from January next year.

As luxury cars are highly in demand in India, the BMW recommended Shell Lubricants engine oils are expected to get more popular in the Indian automotive aftermarket. Not only BMW cars, but all the high-end luxury cars including that of Mercedes Benz, Audi and Jaguar are becoming extremely popular in India. Thus, along with the rising demand for luxury cars the demand for the high-end engine oils will also be on the rise in India. Thus, the association and recommendation of BMW has only added a new feather in the cap of Shell Lubricants.
