BMW M6 gets a more powerful competition package; 592 horses on tap
So BMW has gotten rid of the old competition package on the BMW M6. The new package, which can be opted from July 2015 onwards, is way more awesome!
For starters, the 4.4 liter twin-turbo V8 produces a neck snapping 592 bhp, which is about 40 bhp more than the previous package had on offer. The torque too has been increased from 680Nm to 700Nm. That’s way more than you`d ever need, but you get it anyway.
Now we’ve heard with additional power, comes additional responsibility. So to make sure that all this power is being used to its full potential correctly, a few measures have been taken by the folks at BMW. The springs and dampers in the suspension and the anti roll bars have been made stiffer, so as to make sure the ride quality is better. The steering also has been made more direct. All these measures make the car`s handling better. This is necessary considering the astonishing figures the car`s beastly V8 bangs out.
Talking numbers, the BMW M6 now does a 0-100 kmph in 3.9 seconds, a 0-200 in 11.8 seconds and is electronically limited to 250 kmph. The top speed of the vehicle is 304 kmph, which is suicidal, but fun nonetheless!
If these numbers don’t impress you, or put a smirk on your face, the good guys over at G-Power have something just for you. It is a heavily modified version of the old M6 and is called the “G6M V10 Hurricane S”. If the name doesn’t scare you, the fact that the car has 987 bhp and a top speed of over 370 kmph should!
