BMW 3-Series facelift launched in India from Rs. 35.9 lakhs

Much to the surprise of everyone, BMW has just launched the 3-Series facelift in India at a starting price of Rs. 35.90 lakhs (ex-showroom). Probably the best driver’s cars in its segment, the 2016 BMW 3-Series was expected to make its way to our country at the upcoming Auto Expo in Delhi. The new model looks similar to its predecessor and only comes with a diesel heart presently. A petrol engine will be introduced at a latter point of time. In addition to this, the company has also introduced the M Sport variant with the new model.

Visually, the facelift now features LED fog lamps, LED headlight units and modified LED daytime running lights. The rear also sports new LED tail lamps that does help in refreshing the looks a bit. Other than these, the bumper design has been played around with and the entry-level luxury sedan sports newly designed 17-inch alloy wheels. Going on to the interiors, the design remains unchanged. However, the cabin makes do with new materials with glossy surfaces, chrome highlights and even ambient lighting.

Features wise, the car comes kitted with an 8.8-inch high-resolution screen (in three of the four variants), integrated GPS, Park Assistant feature that makes the car parallel park on its own and a new heads-up display unit that gets 3D graphics. Other than these, the BMW sedan gets electrically adjustable front seats, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, Radio Professional, BMW Apps, BMW ConnectedDrive, Brake Energy Regeneration, Eco Pro mode, Auto Start Stop and five different driving modes – ECO PRO, Comfort, Sport and Sport+.

Power comes in the form of a 2-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine that offers an updated power figure of 190 HP and 400 Nm of torque between 1750-2500 RPM. Power is sent to the wheels through an 8-speed automatic transmission. Capable of reaching a top speed of 230 km/hr, the 3-Series facelift can reach from 0-100 km/hr in 7.2 seconds.

The M Sport package helps in making the car look even better thanks to the M aerodynamic package which includes an exclusive metallic Estoril Blue paint colour, M leather steering wheel and M leather upholstered seats. Prices (ex-showroom) of all the variants are as follows:
