Bajaj Pulsar RS400 to launch this Diwali
Bajaj has been one of the most flourishing two wheeler manufacturers in the country and owns a huge chunk of the two-wheeler market share in India. In order to further expand its portfolio especially in the middle weight sports bike category, the company would be launching the RS400 during Diwali this year as per a report on Zigwheels.
The most noticeable feature of this bike would be an all-new 395cc single cylinder liquid- cooled motor that would churn out 41bhp of power and 30Nm of maximum torque. This new engine would also be equipped in Bajaj’s upcoming sports cruiser the CS400, which would also be launched pretty soon. Bajaj has borrowed this powerful and punchy engine from the KTM RC390 however certain tweaks and changes have been made to this engine. Bajaj’s Triple spark technology could also feature in this new engine. This motor would be tuned to a 6-speed slick manual gearbox setup, although nothing can be said whether slipper clutch functionality would be provided or not.
In terms of design the RS400 carries the same design philosophy as its younger brother, the RS200 with full faring at the front end making the bike look purely charismatic. The bike would get upgraded graphics so as to distinguish it from its younger sibling. The Pulsar RS400 will also feature new paint schemes so as to make it distinguishable from the rest of the Bajaj line-up. The RS400 is also expected to get single channel ABS as an optional feature on the higher end models of the motorcycle.
As far as the pricing of this flagship model is concerned, being a Bajaj product the bike is expected to be priced quite aggressively in the market. We at MotorCruze expect it to be priced around the 1.6 lac mark.
