Bajaj Pulsar AS 150

The Bajaj Pulsar AS200 has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs 91,500

Bajaj Auto, one of the biggest two-wheeler manufacturers in India launched the Pulsar AS200 (Adventure Sport) with a price tag of Rs.91, 500 (Ex-showroom, New Delhi). It is the first time in the past few years that Bajaj has launched a Pulsar model with an introductory price. In order to multiply the Pulsar lineup, the company has introduced the bike mainly targeting the youngsters of the nation who practically like to ride a bike during weekdays and want to experience a fun ride during the weekends.

The newly launched Pulsar AS200 comes powered by a 199.5 cc, single-cylinder, carbureted engine which also employs triple spark plugs and churns out 23.5 PS of power and 18.5 NM of torque mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The braking duties are performed by 280 mm front disc brakes along with 230 mm rear disc brakes. One thing, which Bajaj has done well by skipping in this new model, is the body graphics. Strengthened by a perimeter frame, the AS200 features a projector headlight which otherwise is not present on any of its rivals. Its front also comes equipped with a large windscreen visor.

Bajaj Auto also confirmed that the AS200 version of the Pulsar has around 20-30 percent more power than its competitors. Speaking of its dimensions, the Pulsar AS200`s wheelbase is similar to that of the 200 NS, measuring 1,363 mm but longer than the RS200, which stands at 1,355 mm.

Being an adventure bike, the AS200 does differ from the 200 NS as it comes as a semi-faired model with full-sized rear mudguard with no rear tyre hugger. Dimension wise, it is marginally taller and longer too. Standing on MRF tyres, the exhaust is similar to that of the Pulsar Naked Sport. When compared with the AS150, the AS200 is different in essence as it comes with a bigger engine, 3 spark plugs and liquid-cooling along with a better braking system and wider tyres. Weight wise, the AS200 is heavier by 10 kgs than the AS150 as the former weighs 153 kgs offering a ground clearance of 167mm.

Like every Pulsar model, with such attractive features, more power output and an introductory price like never before, the Bajaj Pulsar AS200 is going to be the next hot selling bike in the country.
