Bajaj claims the AS150 is the most powerful bike in its segment

Bajaj Auto surprised everyone by launching the second Pulsar model, the AS150 (Adventure Sport) after it introduced the Pulsar AS200. With a starting price of Rs.79, 000 (Ex-showroom, New Delhi), the Pune based two wheeler manufacturer has targeted this bike at the younger generation.

The company claims that the Pulsar AS150 is the most powerful 150cc bike in the country as it is powered by a 149.5 cc, twin-spark, 4-valve, DTS-I engine. Its air-cooled mill churns out 17 PS of power @ 9,500 RPM and 13 Nm of torque @ 7,500 RPM. The braking duties are carried out by a 240mm front disc and 130mm drum disc at the rear. The Pulsar AS150 is shod with 80/100/17 tubeless tyres at the front while the rear tyres are 110/80/17 tubeless.

The Pulsar AS150 is mainly designed to cater to office goers, youngsters and anyone looking for a powerful 150cc bike. The bike can be your companion in the city as well as offer a fun ride for those weekend trips.

Very similar to the Pulsar AS200, the AS150 features semi-fairing in the front and is equipped with a 55W projector headlamp, which is a first in its segment. The bike has a 12-litre fuel tank, weighs 143 kilos and has a good ground clearance of 170 mm which is much needed for Indian road conditions. Once again, Bajaj Auto has skipped the body graphics and offers three color options, namely black, blue and red.

While the Pulsar has ruled the Sports motorcycle market since its launch 14 years back, the company is again hopeful to break all records with the newly launched youth oriented motorcycles. Presently, the company sells around 57,000 units of the Pulsar bike in India every month with a market share of 43 percent. With the Pulsar AS200 and AS150, Bajaj Auto is sure to grab some more market share in the 150cc and 200cc segment.
