Bajaj launches its fastest Pulsar the RS200, Prices Start from INR 1.18 Lakh

Pulsar RS 200

In the Indian market, Bajaj introduced the Pulsar in the year 2001 and in the last 14 years, the company has launched many versions of the popular bike. Finally Bajaj officially launched the much awaited Pulsar RS200 in India in two versions- Non ABS and ABS with prices starting at Rs. 1.18 lakhs and Rs.1.30 lakhs respectively (Ex-Showroom, Delhi).

The Pulsar RS200 considered as the fastest bike in the manufacture’s lineup with a top speed of 141 km/h is produced at Bajaj`s Chakan plant in Pune. The bike shares everything with the Pulsar 200 NS motorcycle, but still emerges out to be a new bike with a completely new identity. Let’s have a detailed overview about this new sports bike from the house of Bajaj.

Powered by the same 199 cc engine from the NS 200, the Bajaj Pulsar RS200 is powered by a single-cylinder, 4-valve, triple-spark, liquid cooled engine with fuel injection which makes about 24.5 PS of power @ 9,750 rpm along with 18.6 NM of torque @ 8,000 rpm. Similar to NS200, the bike comes mated to 6-speed manual gearbox option to channelize the power to its wheels.

Ideally, taking the design inspiration from the 400 SS introduced at the Auto Expo last year, the Pulsar RS200 is a miniature version of the former in every manner but carries new design language for that unique identity to appeal to the masses. While its front fascia looks aggressive with those dual headlight design with projector lamps and LED DRLs, the razor sharp lines along its sides and its tail section gets equipped with clean lens LED taillights to make it stand out of the crowd.

Upgrades over the 200 NS model on the new Pulsar RS200 includes clip-on handlebars, wide front windscreen, split seats and side mounted exhaust.

The Pulsar RS200 is a complete value for money package as it brings with it loads of interesting features. Analog digital console, digital speedometer, temperature gauge, side stand indicator, service reminder are some interesting ones. For the first time the company has equipped this new model with Anti-Braking System (ABS) safety feature as an option on its top end variant. This feature is not available in its base variant at all.

The Pulsar RS200 comes with the tag ‘Fastest Pulsar till now’ and it is true as the bike boasts of impressive performance figures. With a top speed of 141 km/h and kerb weight of 165 kgs, it is the fastest Pulsar till date. Bajaj claims that the bike will deliver a fuel efficiency of around 54 km/l.

Competition and Price

The Bajaj Pulsar RS200 is going to strongly compete with the Yamaha R15 2.0 and the upcoming Honda CBR150R facelift in its segment. While the bike will be available in two color options- yellow and red, dealers across the country have started accepting bookings for its deliveries to commence soon.
