Bajaj Avenger Street and Cruise models spied prior to launch
A lot of news has been revolving around the updated Bajaj Avenger range that will be breaking cover soon in India. The Avenger cruiser has made up quite a fan base in our country thanks to its comfortable seating position, which in turn makes it a very good cruiser. The upcoming new models will soon be making their debut in the country and they have been spied on various occasions as well.
This time around, the new Avenger has been caught at the company’s plant in Chakan, Pune. Expected to come in three different variants, two of these have just been spied up-close and personal. The first variant has a full-black paint scheme and might be termed as ‘Street’. On the design front, this particular variant takes inspiration from the Harley-Davidson Street 750. The second model, ‘Cruise’ on the other hand gets a classic styling with spoke wheels.
According to rumors, the ‘Street’ was to derive power from the engine which also powers the Pulsar AS 200, while the ‘Cruise’ would run on the more powerful 220cc engine. However, it has now been confirmed that both the models will be powered by the 220cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that churns out 19.09 PS of power at 8400 RPM, 17.5 Nm of torque at 7000 RPM and will come mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
The Avenger continues to find around 2000 buyers every month even though it is a very old bike. The new models are expected to get more prospective buyers for the cruiser thanks to the many updates and options that Bajaj will make available with the motorcycle.
