Audi RS6 Avant to launch in India on June 4, 2015
For all us who thought the station wagon would never appeal to the Indian consumer, Audi India believes that this segment is untapped and the RS6 Avant will create a stir in the Indian market. Without further delay the German luxury carmaker has decided to launch the performance-oriented version of the A6 (estate version), the RS6 Avant, on June 4th, 2015 in the country.
Under the hood, the RS6 will be powered by the same engine specs used on the RS7 Sportback facelift model launched in India this week. To be precise, power will come from the 4.0-litre, V8, TFSI bi-turbo unit churning out 560 hp and 700 NM of twisting force. 8-speed tiptronic gearbox unit along with Audi’s Quattro AWD, helps channelize the power to its wheels. What makes the Station wagon model different from the rest is that it manages to attain a top speed of 305 kmph and can sprint from 0-100kmph in just 3.9Sec.
The Audi RS6 Avant comes equipped with standard 20-inch alloy wheels (21-inches alloy wheels are optional), Dynamic Ride Control along with an RS adaptive air suspension with riding height lowered by approx. 20 mm. Few features which you can expect in the RS6 and later on in the A6 and the S6 facelifts are the single piece grille, the revised taillight design as well as the new LED DRLs. The Matrix lights/adaptive LEDs seen on the international spec RS6 will make their way onto the Indian-bound model as well. Inside the cabin, the RS6 Avant also gets black leather interior upholstery with silver and red highlights which give the cabin a sporty look.
Positioned above the S6 in the company’s lineup, we expect Audi India to price the RS6 Avant between Rs 1 crore – 1.25 crore.
