Audi RS6 Avant launched In India for Rs. 1.35 Crores
In what comes as a valiant move by Audi, the German luxury manufacturer has launched the 2015 RS6 Avant in India at a price tag of Rs. 1.35 crores (ex-showroom Delhi). The station wagon is a unique offering in our country and joins the likes of the recently launched RS5 coupe and S6 saloon to become another performance oriented vehicle to be launched in our country by the company this year. This comes in light of the fact that station wagons are not at all popular in India and Audi seems to have taken a bold move by bringing the RS6 Avant.
Offered as a niche product with a huge practical boot, the 2015 Audi RS6 Avant gets a sharper front fascia with larger air dams as compared to its predecessor. The revised headlight cluster can be bought with the unique Matrix LEDs as an option. The vehicle runs on 20 inch alloy wheels and sportier 21 inch wheels are available as optional. At the rear end, the wagon gets updated LED tail lights with classy looking dual exhausts that are done-up in chrome.
The interiors are completely finished in black which adds to the sporty feel of the RS6 Avant. The best bits include racing seats at the front, a flat-bottom steering wheel and a pop-up display unit. Few of the many features offered include keyless go, reversing camera, navigation, heated seats and an engine start-stop button. Three passengers can easily be seated at the rear bench and the most practical bit of the RS6 Avant is the large 556-litre boot, which can further be increased to 1680-litres after the rear seats are folded down.
The station wagon is powered by a humongous 4.0-litre turbocharged V8 engine which bangs out 550 HP of power and 700 Nm of torque. Paired to an 8-speed tiptronic automatic transmission, the estate can reach the 100 km/hr mark from standstill in just 3.9 seconds and can hit a top whack of 305 km/hr with the option pack.
Safety is also well taken care off as the RS6 Avant gets adaptive cruise control, six airbags, stability control and pre-sense plus with brake assist and active lane assist. Though the Avant is an estate, the pragmatic vehicle is a very good option for the performance enthusiast and can also faithfully play the leading role of a weekend getaway.
