Audi A6 facelift launched in India at Rs. 49.5 lakhs (ex-showroom)
Audi has just gone out and launched the A6 luxury sedan facelift via WhatsApp, in what has become the first such launch using the popular messaging app in our country. Priced at Rs. 49.5 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi), the new model is nothing but a new variant which is based on the S-Line trim which features all the goodies one expects at this price point, given it is a top-end variant.
The Audi A6 has always been performing well on the sales front in India and Audi will be hoping to improve on the same given the rise in popularity of luxury vehicles. The update makes the A6 a better product. Not much has changed on the design front save for the front and rear bumpers, new side skirts, chrome strip at the rear and the addition of the famous Matrix LED headlights which also feature on the flagship A8L sedan. The turn indicators are new as well featuring the company’s dynamic LED system. The tail lamps have also been updated featuring an LED setup like the front end. Other than these, the exhaust tips now carry a sporty trapezoidal design.
Coming to the luxurious cabin, upholstery is now being offered in a new colour – Flint Grey. Audi has given the facelift a touchscreen infotainment system with in-built navigation, handwriting recognition, voice activation and remote control for passengers seated at the rear seats. Along with this a multi-zone climate control system, massage/ventilated seats and a button for moving the front passenger seat forward for creating additional leg room at the rear has also been provided.
However, the company is only offering the facelifted Audi A6 with the 2.0-litre TDI diesel mill which comes paired to a 7-speed S-Tronic automatic transmission. This engine puts out 190 BHP and 380 Nm of torque. The company will be hoping that the recent update will help them garner more sales than the Mercedes E-Class, BMW 3-Series, Volvo S60 and Jaguar XF in the segment.
