The all-new Audi A5 2016 is scheduled to make its world premiere on June 2 2016, prior to which the German automaker has released a set of official teaser images that showcase a few design elements of the upcoming Audi Sedan. While deeper details are still covered under wraps, the Audi A5 teaser images showcase the car’s silhouette through a line-sketch, while a couple of heavily camouflaged images have been used to tease the car’s face and side profile.
Frankly, the leaked teaser images don’t really present many design details, as the previously leaked spyshots have already given us a lot clearer insight into the upcoming Audi sedan. Initially, only the coupe A5 will be released, while the sedan version will be launched a few months later.
The second-generation Audi A5 2016 Coupe will be based on Volkswagen Group’s all-new MLB-Evo platform, which also underpins its saloon sibling, the new Audi A4. Since the new platform is manufactured by using high-strength, light-weight materials, the second-gen A5 Coupe is expected to lose around 150 kg weight, in comparison to the model it replaces.
2016 Audi A5 engine options would include a 1.4-litre TFSI petrol, a 2.0-litre TFSI petrol, and a 2.0-litre TDI diesel. These are the same engines that power the 2016 Audi A4.
