Aston Martin showcases the $212,000 DB11 at 2016 Geneva Motor Show
Aston Martin’s timeless DB series needs no introduction; the British car maker has decided to bowl over its fans again by adding a new model- DB11 to the bloodline. The sports car made its debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show a few days back, and is all set to replace the 12 year old DB9. The Aston Martin DB11 is based on the British marquee’s DBX concept and also DB10 from the blockbuster movie ‘Spectre’. The 21st century’s gutsy Aston Martin DB11 straightaway reminds one of a DB but is unique and ultra-modern. The DB11 will be the first to flaunt the alluring design language which emerges from the Mercedes-AMG and Aston Martin partnership.
The DB11 stands synonymous with class, speed and aggression, however few design cues are inspired from the DBX and DB10 mentioned above and even from the outgoing DB9 model. The interiors of the 007 car are completely mesmerizing with a fresh cabin design and features upto date tech features like driving mode selector, electronic power steering, parking aids, camera-based monitoring system, LCD instrument cluster of 12-inches coupled with an 8 inch infotainment display and ISOFIX mounting points for 2 child seats at the back.
Under the hood, the Aston Martin DB11 is equipped with a twin-turbocharged 5.2-L V-12 engine which churns out an eye popping 600 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque. Coming to the exteriors, the DB11 flaunts the traditional yet bigger Aston Martin special grille, an extraordinary chiselled bonnet which sports rugged character lines, LED daytime running lights and set of fresh projector headlamps. The inclined roof-line, sleek curves and extended front end is a visual treat and the new light-style tail lamps and spoiler like tail makes the rear end attractive too. The bumpers at the rear are muscular and have dual, chrome-tipped exhaust pipes. The car is expected to hit the international car market in the fourth quarter of 2016 and will be offered at a starting price of $212,000.
