Aprilia gives a sneak peak of its Street fighter at IBW 2015

Aprilia Shiver 750

Aprilia, the Italian company owned by Piaggio, unveiled the Shiver, at India Bike Week held recently. The Shiver is Aprilia’s street fighter, which is set to take on the likes of the Kawasaki Z800, Triumph speed triple, Ducati Monster and the upcoming Yamaha MT-09

Aprilia makes one of the finest bikes in its segment, and is know for its Italian styling and engineering, is all set to release this beast in the country sometime soon. Aprilia is set to add this bike to its portfolio, which consists of the RSV4, TuonoV4, Dorsoduro 1200 ATC and many more.

Powering the bike is a 749.9 CC, 4-stroke, liquid cooled, V-twin engine that smashes out 95BHP and 80.9 Nm of torque. Handling so much power is a 6-speed gearbox, and has ABS as standard to stop this animal. The bike is set up on a Trellis frame, with USD suspension up front, and Monoshock’s at the back.

This bike has 3 riding modes namely Sport, Touring and Rain. The rider will be able to select it according to preference (I wouldn’t let it be off Sports mode for a second if you ask me). The year ahead is extremely exciting for the Indian 2-wheeler scene, with a host of awesome bikes making their way to the Indian shores. The Indian Bike Week was a perfect platform for the company to showcase its bike, as it would certainly find its right audience there, and help word get across.

No price tag has been put on the bike, but given the competition in Streetfighter segment in the year ahead, expect an aggressive ex-showroom price to burn a hole in your pocket.
