Amaze lifts Honda`s fortunes in India


Ever since Honda has launched the Amaze in India it’s been consistently selling 6,000 units a months since its launch in April 2013. Amaze did the trick for Honda in India being the first diesel engine compact sedan from the Honda stable.

Jnaneshwar Sen, senior vice president, marketing and sales Honda Cars India said that the Amaze has enabled Honda to become a big player in its segment by bringing many new customers to the Honda fold.

The amaze is available in both petrol and diesel engines. The petrol variant is the tried and tested 1.2 litre i-VTEC engine which produces 86bhp and 109 Nm of torque mated to a five speed manual or five speed automatic gearbox. The diesel unit produces 100bhp and 200Nm of torque and comes only with a five speed manual gearbox.

In May 2014 the company sold 13,362 units in as against the 11,342 units in May 2013. The Mobilio`s launch in July 2014 will further boost the sales of Honda in India.
