All new Honda CBR400R revealed at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show
Honda has come out with its all new CBR400R at the 44th Tokyo Motor Show. It carries an aggressive design that seems to take inspiration from the more powerful CBR500R. According to the company, the new CBR400R is designed in a way to make the rider feel very comfortable both while cruising on a daily basis to having a sporty ride on the track.
Mechanically, the new Honda CBR400R is powered by a 400cc, parallel-twin, 4-valve DOHC engine that produces 45 BHP of power and 37 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. Getting the same colour theme as the CBR650F, the CBR400R actually carries the paint scheme better than its elder sibling. The front gets dual LED headlights that looks amazing, rear gets an LED tail lamp, while the fuel tank design carries neat contours that goes well with the bike`s design.
The black alloy wheels are pin-striped and it rides on Bridgestone Sportmax tyres. The seat on the lower side, is wide and seems to be a comfortable one. The exhaust is a Moriwaki unit that gives the motorcycle a sporty appeal as it looks and sounds different from the stock exhaust. However, the Moriwaki exhaust is not likely to make it to the production spec model.
The bike will soon be launching in the international market. But an Indian launch seems very unlikely, as Honda has been very slow to roll out products in the sports segments. Overall, the CBR400R is a very capable offering that currently does not have much competition in the respective displacement. But it is expected to give the Kawasaki Ninja 300 and KTM RC390 some very good competition nonetheless. We are still hopeful of the fact that the Japanese company does launch the bike in India as well.
