The 3 best hatchbacks which are due for launch in early 2015
The Indian car market is witnessing a steady growth phase and among the innumerable new car launches in the pipeline for next year, here are the top three hatchback models that will hit the Indian car market early next year.
Honda Cars India had confirmed the launch of the all new Honda Jazz in India in March next year. Developed on an all new Honda City’s platform, the new-gen Jazz premium hatchback will also come along with a diesel powerplant this time around to ensure its success in India. Moreover, the car will be heavily localized to give it an aggressive price tag. The previous Jazz’s discontinuation was primarily because of the lack of a diesel model and its exorbitant price.
The new Honda Jazz is already available in many international markets and was showcased in India at the 2014 Auto expo. Post its market launch the new Jazz will compete with the new Maruti Swift, Hyundai Elite i20, Fiat Punto Evo, Volkswagen Polo, Nissan Micra, Renault Pulse and the upcoming Tata Bolt.
The all new Honda Jazz for India is likely to get its awesome 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine along with its 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel mill.
The new upcoming Tata Bolt is based on the Tata Zest was supposed to launch this year, but now it has been postponed to January next year. Developed on the original platform of the Vista, the Bolt hatchback will be equipped by the same engine and similar features of the Zest.
The peppy new Bolt will be available in both diesel and petrol versions and will be powered by the company’s all new 1.2 litre Revotron turbocharged petrol engine with three drive modes and the acclaimed Fiat sourced 1.3 litre Multijet diesel mill, both paired to a standard 5 speed manual gearbox. The AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) is expected on the Bolt’s petrol avatar only.
The Tata Bolt will feature a fresh design, great engines, and a good long list of interior equipments including steering wheel mounted audio controls, advanced entertainment system with integrated touchscreen display and bluetooth connectivity to name a few.
New Ford Figo
Ford India is all set to launch the next generation Figo hatchback early next year. The model has already gone on sale in Brazil as the Ford Ka and it is immensely popular already. The hatchback will arrive in India after the Figo sedan version is launched replacing the Ford Classic. Both the models will be developed on the original platform of the very popular Ford EcoSport compact SUV.
The New Ford Figo sedan has been imported to India for R&D requirements powered by a newly developed 1.19 litre version Sigma petrol engine that is expected to power both the new Figo versions. Another car will also be powered the 1.5 litre Sigma petrol motor which is already powering the Ford EcoSport. The new Ford Figo’s diesel avatar is expected to be powered by a 1.5 litre turbocharged diesel mill.
