2017 Volkswagen Polo R WRC teaser sketch released
Volkswagen Motorsport have been putting its foot down and making efforts in order to win the upcoming World Rally Championship 2017. Recently, Volkswagen has revealed the first sketch of the car, which would compete, in the upcoming championship, the Polo R. The 2017 Volkswagen Polo R WRC has been provided with several enhancements and changes from its predecessor in order to satisfy the newer rules of the World Rally Championship.
The car now has been increased in width by 50mm and also has shed a lot of weight, approximately about 50kg making it even lighter than before. The car now would be equipped with an electric Centre differential setup rather than the transmission setup. The company has immensely modified the exteriors of the Polo R as well, and now boasts a larger rear wing and a more prominent front spoiler.
The 2017 Volkswagen Polo R WRC has also been upgraded in the engine department, and now produces a massive 380bhp of max power, which is 60bhp more than its predecessor. This is just the first glimpse of the upcoming vehicle and several changes might take place before it actually goes into production. However, the current model is all-set to compete in the fourth round of the 2016 Championship.
