Launched- 2017 TVS Jupiter priced at Rs 49,666
The Indian two-wheeler market welcomes yet another BSIV complaint product- 2017 TVS Jupiter automatic scooter after launching the BS IV Compliant 2017 Wego Scooter. The headlamp toggle switch will also be seen missing as the scooter gets AHO (Automaic Headlamp On) function. The SBS (Sync Braking System) that was previously available in high-end ZX trim now comes as a standard. The SBS automatically activates the front brakes as the rear brakes are applied. The scooter gets the tried and tested engine along with the CVT automatic unit. The Econometer technology also paves way guiding the rider in Power as well as Eco mode. The Scooter gets two new shades- Mystic Gold and Jade Green. As a reminder the BSIV emission norms comes into effect from April 1st, 2017. The two-wheeler manufacturers- Bajaj and Honda have updated their product line-up, others too are geared up to achieve the BSIV compliance for all their products.

The three variants of TVS Jupiter- ZX Disc, ZX and Standard are priced at Rs 53,666, Rs 51,689 and Rs 49,666 respectively. All the prices mentioned above are ex-showroom Delhi. The one it bids adieu was priced in the range of Rs 49,034 to Rs 53,034 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
2017 TVS Jupiter BSIV Styling Changes
Not much changes have been made to the current design, however new features and body graphics do make way. The BSIV sticker proudly sits on the front body panel. The 2017 model has been built on a high rigidity under-bone type frame and gets an AHO unlike the regular halogen multi-reflector headlamp. The SYNC Braking System that was earlier available in ZX trim now comes as standard across all range. Features like pillion footrest, turn signal, tripmeter and digital fuel gauge will continue to adorn the 2017 TVS Jupiter.
2017 TVS Jupiter BSIV Specs
The heart of the scooter too remains untouched and the single-cylinder, 4-stroke, air-cooled 109.7 cc engine with overhead camshaft configuration will continue doing the duty. The petrol engine now is BSIV compliant and comes mated to a CVT gearbox delivering a power output of 7.88 bhp at 7500 rpm and peak torque of 8 Nm at 5500 rpm. The new model delivers same mileage figures as the outgoing model that is 50 kmpl to 55 kmpl.
The 2017 Jupiter gets a digital IDI along with ignition map technology. It also features the patented Econometer technology that guides in the Eco as well as Power mode.

Dimensions- The scooter measures 1834 mm × 650 mm × 1115 mm, the saddle height is 765 mm and the fuel tank capacity is 5-litres. The wheelbase offered is 1275 mm and the ground clearance is 150 mm offering smoother ride experience in city roads.
Braking System– The 130 mm drum performs the braking duty on front as well as rear.
Suspension system– The advance telescopic shock absorbers takes care of the front while the gas charged monoshock takes care of the rear suspension.
