2017 Ford EcoSport facelift snapped testing

2017 ford ecosport facelift spotted testing 1

Having just a handful products in its Indian kitty, the US auto giant Ford by no means is lagging behind amid the rat’s race in the industry. Ford EcoSport upon its launch did wonders in the country and it still continues to be one of the hottest competitors in the segment. Indian car market at present looks flooded with new and feature rich models in the sub-compact SUV segment with the likes of the Mahindra NuvoSport, Mahindra TUV300 and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, but the EcoSport’s glory refuses to fade. It is being speculated that the Ford EcoSport facelift might drive into the domestic market in the coming year.

Although Ford came up with cosmetically upgraded EcoSport last year which was practically insignificant, it surely is high time for some major changes. It is important to mention here that the mechanical features of the sub-4 meter SUV were left untouched. Now that the customers are spoilt with choices in the segment, Ford has decided to come up with a new generation EcoSport to stay rooted in the competition. Ford slashed the price of the EcoSport earlier this year as Maruti launched Vitara Brezza at a much competitive price range. So, the 2017 Ford EcoSport base variant will probably be priced below Rs 7 lakh. Coming to the details revealed in the spy images, the new-gen EcoSport will continue to sport the same front fascia but with slight modification in the headlamp design and new moulded bumper.

The images further reveal that the carmaker chose to go ahead with the same hexagonal-shaped front grille and the alloy wheels. Now there lies immense expectations from the rear design of the 2017 Ford EcoSport, which looks well-disguised in the spy shots. The spied images of the new-gen EcoSport interiors have surfaced earlier that revealed updated features of the renewed cabin like centre console having color display and an updated steering wheel. Considering the immense popularity of its economical range of engine options that include the 1.5-L diesel, 1.5-L petrol and 1.0-L EcoBoost unit helped Ford bag many awards, it is therefore unlikely for Ford to risk altering the existing line-up.
