2017 Force Gurkha BS4 India price starts at 8.76 lakh
The BS-4 compliant Force Gurkha 2017 has been launched in India at prices starting from Rs. 8.76 lakh and going up to Rs. 11.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This launch comes after the previous model went off sales post April 1, 2017, with the implementation of the BS-4 emission norms in the country.
The 2017 Gurkha continues to be equipped with a 2,596 cc, 4-cylinder common rail diesel engine that has now been tuned to be compliant with BS4 norms. Mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, this engine is capable of delivering 85 bhp @ 3,200 rpm and 230 Nm of peak torque @ 1,400 – 2,400 rpm. The off-roader is available with 4×2 as well as 4×4 drive options.
The Force Gurkha is available with two versions – 3-door and 5-door. Both these versions get two trim levels each – Xplorer and Xpedition. The Xplorer variants get 4×4 drivetrain as standard, while the Xpedition trim comes with 4×2 drive. Being a hard blooded off-roader, the Force Gurkha Xplorer also comes with front and rear live axles, both of which get independent differential locks. As a result, the vehicle is capable of directing all power of the engine to a single wheel, in order to bring the SUV out of tricky off-road conditions.
Owing to this hard-core equipment on board, the Force Gurkha is one of the best vehicles to go off-road in this price range. The company has also engineered the vehicle to be capable of tackling all major obstacles. As a result, it can negotiate gradients of up to 40 degrees, has a 39-degree approach angle, a 27-degree departure angle and a ramp over angle of 24 degrees.
The 2017 Force Gurkha BS-4 is available in four colour options – Cooper Red, Superior White, Matt Black, Moondust Silver. Additionally, customers of the Force Gurkha Xplorer variant have the option to choose a soft top or a hard top version as well.
