2016 Skoda Superb teased on Czech carmaker`s Indian website
The new Superb is based on the MQB platform and prices for the luxury saloon are expected to start at Rs. 25 lakh.
Skoda is a well-known and reputed car manufacturer brand in the Indian automotive Industry. The Czech automaker has been constantly tweaking its products and adding more products to their lineup in order to impress the Indian customers. Recently, the company has uploaded an official video of the interior and exterior of the new 3rd generation model of the already popular Skoda Superb. The market launch of the new Superb is expected to happen in the coming months.
The 3rd generation Skoda Superb is based on the same platform as the VW Passat. Although, the European countries witnessed a smaller engine trim in the Superb mainly the 1.4L Petrol and 1.6L Diesel, the Indian market would get a much heavier engine under the hood, the 1.8-litre TSI turbocharged four-cylinder petrol, 2.0-litre TSI turbocharged four-cylinder petrol, and the 2.0-litre TDI turbocharged four-cylinder diesel. As far as the transmission goes, the new Superb saloon would likely be offered with a 6-Speed DSG automatic gearbox and the legendary old-school 6-speed manual transmission.
The 2016 Skoda Superb would swank a host of features. Few of them include bi-xenon headlights, LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, panoramic sunroof, and an electric tailgate. Inside the cabin, the Superb would possess an Infotainment display with Apple car play and Android auto support. We expect Skoda India to price the car very aggressively in the Rs. 25 lakh region, as the new model will be brought to India via the CKD route.
