2016 Maruti Alto 800 facelift spied in full glory
Maruti Suzuki is the most popular car brand in the country and the company retails various models in the domestic market. One of its best-selling models is the Alto 800. Recently a facelifted version of the entry-level compact hatchback, the Alto 800 was spied at a stockyard by the good folks at Gaadiwaadi dot com. The updated Alto would be the first facelift for the car since its launch back in 2012.
On the exterior front the 2016 Maruti Alto facelift features minor cosmetic changes. The car now gets a very sleek looking front grille. The Suzuki badging is placed below this grille and not on it, which is the first minor change spotted in the spyshot images. The headlamp setup remains the same, but the turn light indicators are now in orange colour. Another distinguishable change at the front end is a large hexagonal air dam under the grille.
Although no details are available about the interiors of the Alto facelift it is expected to get revised upholstery. Currently the car is powered by a 796cc petrol motor that churns out 47PS of power and 69 Nm of torque mated to a 5-speed MT.
The Alto 800 has been the leader of the entry level hatchback segment and sources reveal that the hatchback will be launched in the second week of May. The Maruti Alto 800 rubs shoulders with the Hyundai Eon, Renault Kwid and the newly unveiled Datsun RediGo. With this upgrade Maruti Suzuki is hoping to give a further push to the Alto`s sales keeping in view the rising competition from newer models in the segment.
