2016 Kawasaki Z125 revealed, India launch unlikely
Kawasaki has revealed the 2016 Z125 street-fighter motorcycle, which can be availed in two variants- Z125 and Z125 Pro. These new versions are not India-bound and will be available in global markets only. The newest addition in the Z series is by far the smallest Kwacker, the regular version on the other hand has received a new automatic gearbox. The Pro version gets a manual transmission. The 2016 Z125 has borrowed various elements from the larger models from Z Series in Kawasaki’s line-up.
Possessing a taller stance, the masculine Z125 gets sharper looks and fenders on either side which flank the bold fuel tank. Side profile features black cladding and the engine cowl boosts the sporty flair of the bike. Head light cluster gets a revamp appearing sharper, rear comes with a Z-Shaped LED tail lamp. Besides, the motorcycle also gets an exhaust positioned under the belly and also an analog digital instrument cluster.
Power is derived from a 125cc, air-cooled, single pot engine featuring SOHC, 2-valves and fuel injection technology. The bike develops peak power of 9.5 PS, and a low kerb weight of 101 kg implies a well balanced ratio between power and weight. The engine is mated to a four-speed manual or automatic transmission. USD forks are employed in front and the rear houses an adjustable monoshock configuration. Disc brakes (200mm in front and 184mm at the rear) ensure adequate stopping power is provided. The bike is fitted with 100/90/R12a tyres at the front while the rear is shod with 120/70/R12 tyres.
The 2016 Kawasaki Z125 will be available in three exterior colour shades including green-black, black-orange and green-silver. In its segment, the motorcycle will rival the likes of the Honda MSX 125.
