The 2016 Fiat Linea has been teased ahead of its world debut at the 2015 Istanbul Motor Show which will be held between May 22nd and May 31st. Rumor has it that the new Fiat sedan will replace two cars – Fiat Linea sedan and Fiat Bravo hatchback, in order to keep a check on costs and improve the product line-up. It is expected that the new sedan will be christened Fiat Bravo.
A few weeks back we had shown you spy shots of Fiat Linea`s successor which revealed that the car will be slightly bigger than the outgoing model. The official teaser image shows only the car`s rear end. Based on Fiat`s (small wide architecture) the new sedan gets reverse C-shaped taillights with an integrated spoiler attached to the boot lid. According to reports the Linea replacement will not only be launched in Turkey, but also in Asian and other Middle East markets.
Fiat says the new Linea will focus on performance and interior comfort which gives us a clue that an all-new cabin and a new set of powerful engines will be employed. It is expected that the next-gen Fiat Linea will be powered by the 2.0 litre Multi-Jet II oil burner and the 1.4 litre MultiAir Turbo petrol engine. Both the motors generate 140 PS of power and are coupled to an automatic as well as a manual transmission. We`re doubtful if these engines will make it to the Indian spec.
The Italian carmaker currently sells the Linea classic and the facelift model in the country. The 2016 Fiat Linea will be launched in Turkey in November 2015, and we expect the new car to reach the Indian shores not before 2016. Also on the cards is a more powerful Punto Evo (T-jet) which the company will be launching very soon in the market.
