Volkswagen’s Beetle is one of the most famous cars all over the world. Known for its unique styling, the Beetle has been in the international market since the 1940’s. As a result of this, Volkswagen has kept the Beetle name alive, updating it regularly.
The latest 2015 version of the Beetle will be launching in India this year after it stopped retailing a few years back. What’s new about the new Beetle is the fact that it is bigger than any of its predecessors. Though it carries a new design, the new Beetle still carries design elements from its previous generation models. The front has a classic looking bonnet design, round headlamps with LED DRLs and a simple looking bumper. The two-door gets amazing 10-spoke alloy wheels and a freshly designed rear profile.
The new Volkswagen Beetle will be powered by a 1.4-litre, turbocharged, four-cylinder, TSI petrol engine that produces 160 PS of power. The motor will be mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox that sends power to the front two wheels. According to the company, the new engine not only offers more power than the previous engine, but it is also 35 percent more fuel efficient. Volkswagen will not be launching the diesel powered Beetle at the time of launch, but a diesel engine might be made available sometime later. The Beetle will be launching in India next month.
