2015 Top end Honda Jazz to get 16-inch alloys
As we had reported earlier, Honda plans to launch the jazz in India. Honda has already commenced production of the Jazz, as we had reported earlier. The car was previously imported from Thailand, and hence commanded a higher price.
The new Honda Jazz has been given a massive upgrade, in the interior as well as exterior space. For more information on the same you can read our full article here. In the spy shots of the car testing, it was found that the top end VMT variant will sport 16-inch alloy wheels. This would be a first for any car in the hatchback segment. The top end variant will feature a lot of goodies, like an upgraded infotainment system with navigation, USB connectivity and the works.
The car has borrowed a lot of component aspects from the City. Localization of parts will help Honda price the car competitively. The main car that the Honda jazz would have to compete with would be the i20 elite, which has been selling like hot cakes. Tata too recently launched the Bolt with an attractive price tag and with a host of features.
To make sure this car keeps up with competition, Honda would have to price it extremely strategically. Powering the Honda Jazz is a 1.2 litre i-VTEC petrol and a 1.5 litre i-DTEC engine, with a manual 5-speed as well as the option of an auto box (only for the petrol though). The car has been spotted testing numerous times, and is expected to hit the streets by the middle of the year with a price tag of Rs 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
