2015 Renault Duster facelift spied testing in India
The recently launched Hyundai Creta has spiced up the competition in the entry level SUV segment by quite a margin. As a result one of its main rivals, the Renault Duster will be facing a lot of slack in the market. Sales of the Duster have been dropping consistently for a while now and this can mainly be attributed to the fact that it desperately needs an update. The Duster has already got a facelift in the international markets and that too quite some time back, then why not in India?
Renault is working on this case and will be launching the updated SUV before the end of this year. The facelift was recently spied testing on Indian roads, revealing quite a few details. Overall silhouette of the SUV will remain the same and it will only come with subtle changes to the front and rear ends. Though the front end was not snapped up, the headlights, bumper and grille are all expected to get updated. The taillights will get LED strips and minor changes to the tailgate are expected as well. The Duster facelift will also sport newly designed alloy wheels and the overall facelift might be similar to the one retailed in Brazil.
The same 1.6-litre petrol engine and 1.5-litre dCi diesel mill in two states of tune – 85 PS and 110 PS, will continue to power the facelift. Power will either be sent to the front or to all four wheels through a 5-speed or 6-speed manual gearbox. However, with the rise in popularity of automatic transmissions, Renault may plonk in a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox on the Duster facelift to take on the Creta and Scorpio automatics in the segment.

The interiors of the test mule were completely camouflaged that points towards a redesigned dashboard design which will most likely feature a good design and better quality of materials. A lot is expected from the Duster facelift and we sincerely hope that Renault does not disappoint us with the same.
