2015 Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG spotted testing
The Mercedes-Benz A-Class is the entry-level offering from the German manufacturer all around the world. The premium hatchback is one of the best looking in its class, a main reason that has helped it become so successful in the market. But, the A-Class doesn’t only win in the exterior department, it also has one of the best designed interiors which give a very sporty and upmarket feeling.
The sporty version of the A-Class, namely the A45 AMG is an all-out AMG model. It comes fitted with a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine that can generate a humungous 355 BHP. The hot hatch has a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and a 4Matic four-wheel drive system. The A-Class has been in the international market for a while now, two years to be specific and is due for an update. This means that the A45 AMG performance version will also be getting the same.
A partially camouflaged updated A45 AMG has recently been spotted undergoing tests on the streets of Germany. Only the front and rear bumpers have been covered up, revealing that the new version of the hot hatch will not feature extensive changes to the styling. Mercedes could be improving the power figures of the A45 AMG to stay within touching distance of the upcoming Volkswagen Golf R400 and might therefore get over 400 BHP.
The German luxury manufacturer is well aware of the A-Class’ very capable competition which comes in the form of the Audi A3 and BMW 1 Series in the increasingly competitive premium hatchback market. So no stones are expected to be left unturned when the updated A-Class and A45 AMG will launch in the international market.
