2015 Audi RS7 Sportback launched in India; Priced at Rs 1.42 crore
Audi is going all out in India by bringing a slew of products in the subcontinent. After launching the third-generation Audi TT just recently, Audi has now launched its most powerful production car (that is currently available to purchase), the RS7 in India. The Audi RS7 Sportback 2015 model features very minute design changes to the front and rear bumpers with redesigned head and tail light units, has been launched in the country a little more than a year after the pre-facelift RS7 was introduced in the first place.
The RS7 Sportback has been launched in India for Rs. 1.42 crores (ex-showroom, Mumbai). The new Audi gets Audi’s famous Matrix LED headlamps with dynamic turn indicators for the first time and is available in a choice of three colour options: Matt Aluminium, Gloss Black and Carbon. It also gets an adaptive air suspension setup and an optional Dynamic Ride Control. 20 inch wheels are available as standard, but there is also an option to install massive 21 inch alloys.
Coming to the interior department, the stock seats are replaced by the sporty RS seats with custom RS7 logos. The instrument cluster, paddle-shifters, air vent controls and MMI navigation system have all been redesigned and a Bose surround sound system comes as standard in the Rs. 1 crore plus club car.
Majority of the changes come in the mechanical department. Though it gets the same 4.0-litre V8, bi-turbo, TFSI petrol engine; this engine now develops a whopping 560 PS of power at 5700 RPM and 700 Nm of torque between 1750 to 5700 RPM. Power is sent to all four wheels thanks to the Quattro all-wheel drive unit with the help of an 8-speed tiptronic automatic gearbox.
The Audi RS7 Sportback accelerates from standstill to 100 kph in a mouth-watering 3.9 seconds, with the top speed being electronically limited to 250 kph. But, there is an option to increase the top speed of the RS7 to 305 kph by opting for the ‘dynamic package’. The aggressive looking car delivers a fuel-efficiency of 10.52 km/l (not that this figure matters to those who buy the RS7, but still).
