2014 Nissan Sunny lanched in India at Rs 6.99 lakh ex-Delhi
When Nissan India initially launched the Sunny it did not find many takers. Owing to the lack of interest from buyers Nissan has launched a refreshed 2014 Sunny priced at Rs 6.99 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The face lifted Sunny comes with a host of changes to the exteriors and interiors as well as a very competent price tag to woo buyers to the showrooms. There are eight variants on offer ( three petrol and five diesel).
At first glance the new Sunny looks more elegant and refined. It gets a new chrome grille with the Nissan Logo placed elegantly at the centre. The refreshed Sunny gets new headlights which are slightly bigger and it adds a modern touch to the front facia. The taillights are new and blend well with the overall design at the rear. There is a heavy dose of chrome on the trunk lid and this adds a touch of luxury to the Sunny`s styling.
The 2014 Sunny comes with a host of technology features like push button start, keyless entry, trip computer, rear-view camera with park assist and follow me headlights.
The refreshed Sunny is offered in both petrol and diesel variants. The petrol motor produces 101 PS of power and 134 Nm of torque while the diesel motor pumps out 85 PS and 200 Nm of torque. The petrol variant is also available with an automatic CVT transmission. Of both the variants the diesel Sunny is the one which is more exciting to drive.
ARAI claimed mileage for the petrol manual is 16.95 Kmpl and 17.97 Kmpl for the CVT, while the diesel is pegged at 22.71 Kmpl
The Sunny is available with both front and side airbags. The Optional pack on the higher variants comes with the side airbags. ABS, EBD and driver airbag is standard on all variants.
The Sunny`s forte is the space it offers on the inside. It has the roomiest interiors in its class and offers the best backseat legroom in the competition.
Nissan is offering the 2014 Sunny with two optional packs -:
1) Safety Pack : Provides additional side airbags.
2) Luxury Pack : Leather seats, leather wrapped steering wheel and gear knob.
The 2014 Nissan Sunny in its new avatar is much better as an overall package and makes it stand out in the current competition. Nissan currently has 128 dealerships in India and is planning to increase this number to 200 by the end of FY 2014.
