The Indian two wheeler market has huge potential and continues to grow at a quick pace. In this lucrative market, several motorcycle makers are introducing their new offerings, be it affordable or the very expensive premium products. The Indian two wheeler market was especially abuzz last month, as it was the onslaught of this year’s festive season, and many customers considered buying their new bikes during this auspicious period.
The bestselling Hero Splendor continued to enjoy being the No. 1 selling motorcycle in India constantly even in the month of September. Hero MotoCorp’s bestselling product the Splendor held on to its top position in the list of the ten most selling two wheeler models in the country last month by managing to sell 234,844 units. This sales figure saw an increase as compared to the sale of 223,765 units in the month of August, 2014. Hero MotoCorp being India’s largest selling two wheeler company continued to enjoy having four products from its portfolio in the top ten selling two wheeler list. Activa maintained the second place in the list of the top ten bestselling two wheelers, while Hero Passion and the HF Deluxe got to get the third and the fourth places in the list respectively.

The Hero Splendor remained the top selling motorcycle in September this year by selling a massive 234,844 units last month as against the sale of 151,592 units in the same month last year. The second position holder Activa managed to sell a total of 210,797 units in September 2014 compared to the sale of 141,996 units in September 2013. The Passion occupies the third spot with sales of 107,239 units in September this year versus its fourth place and sales figure of 89,698 in the same month last year. The fourth top seller last month was HF Deluxe which managed to sell 104,250 units as against its sales of 95,751units and third position in the same month last year. In fifth place is the CB Shine with total sales of 77,544 units last month against 56,277 in September 2013.
Next in line is the Discover with sales of 72,618 units in September 2014 as compared to the higher sales of 86,640 units in the same month last year. This is followed by Moped with sales of 72,372 units in September 2014 while it sold 62,837 units in the same period in 2013. This is followed by Dream selling 71,043 units last month as against the sales of 60,145 vehicles in September 2013. In the ninth position, comes the Pulsar with sales of 68,706 units as compared to 69,016 vehicles in the same month last year. The tenth position in the list goes to the Glamour with sales of 51,831 units in September this year.
While the best selling two wheeler maker of India is of course Hero MotoCorp with four models in the list, the second best selling two wheeler maker’s position is grabbed by Honda Motorcycles & Scooters India (HMSI) which has three models in the top ten list.
